Stephen Mayhle was a Pittsburgh police officer from Indiana PA, who was killed in the line of duty. The son of Ronald and Marjorie Robertson Mayhle, he was born on April 3, 1980, in Indiana, PA. He was a graduate of the Indiana Wesleyan School. In 2002, he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Before moving to Pittsburgh, Mayhle owned and operated a landscaping business in Knoxville, TN.
In 2007, Mayhle joined the City of Pittsburgh Police force. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. On April 4, 2009, he and two other officers were killed during an investigation of a domestic dispute. Officer Mayhle was survived by his wife, Shandra Lynn Wallace Mayhle, and daughters Jennifer and Brooklyn.
